What’s it all about, anyway?

The idea for Mist & Shadow has been sitting in my head for a long time.

I was actually watching an early episode of The Vampire Diaries when the first inspiration hit. The main character hands her friend Bonnie a glass bottle, and instantly Bonnie has a vision. I immediately thought it would be cool to have a YA novel with a main character who was psychic.

A lot has changed since then. My main character Daphne is no longer psychic, but works with one to try and meet the evil that is rising up in her small town of Long Haven, Virginia.

From the psychic, Daphne learns that the dream she’s been having of a car accident caused by an unknown creature is real. In fact, seeing visions is symptom of an ability Daphne is starting to realize — seeing ghosts.

But ghosts aren’t the only thing Daphne has to worry about. The dark creature that caused the accident was just the start. More are coming, and she has to help meet this threat. Otherwise, there could be more victims.

Soon, the mists surrounding who’s behind it all will clear, but the shadows will grow only bigger.
